The Late George Lavery

Coiste Chontae an Dúin are saddened to learn today of the death of George Lavery, member of our All Ireland winning teams of 1960 and 61, and selector with our 1968 All Ireland winning team.

 We offer our deepest sympathy to his son George and the entire Lavery Family Circle, also remembering at this time George's late wife Bridie and sons Paul and Oliver. We offer our condolences to the Gaels of St Michaels on the loss of a man who gave great service to Down and Kilwarlin.

Passed away peacefully on 8th May 2024 at City View Court Nursing Home.

Beloved husband of the late Bridie RIP, loving father to George and the late Paul and Oliver.

James is reposing at O’Kanes Funeral Directors, 116-118 Donegall Street, Belfast, BT1 2GX until Tuesday 14th May when his remains will arrive at Holy Family Parish Church for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in Carnmoney Cemetery.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. We will have loved and missed you forever. Rest in Peace.
