Benny Coulter appointed as new Down Minor Football Manager

County Committee ratifies new U17 Football management

Down GAA has appointed Benny Coulter as the new manager of the Minor football team. The former Allstar from Mayobridge was ratified for the position at a meeting of the County Committee on Monday evening.

In an intercounty playing career that spanned 15 seasons, Benny Coulter was regarded as one of Down’s finest modern players. He earned an Allstar during his county’s run to the All-Ireland final in 2010. Eleven years earlier, he was a vital part of the Ulster and All-Ireland winning Minor team of 1999.

The management team will include recent county senior players Darren O’Hagan (Clonduff) and Donal O’Hare (Burren), as well as Martin McKibben (Castlewellan). Members of this season’s U16 Development squad management will also form part of the coaching and backroom team.
