Consultation/funding opportunities - trails and opportunities for outdoor recreation or sport

Groups may find the information below of interest if they plan on developing their tourism potential or would like to provide trails and opportunities for outdoor recreation or sport.

 

Tourism NI and Newry, Mourne & Down Council Market-Ready Workshops
The aim of these workshops is to provide opportunities for local tourism businesses to work together in partnership to create more offers and packages that will encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more in the region.  Workshops will be held in the following locations.

  • Tuesday 8th November – The Whistledown Hotel, Warrenpoint
  • Wednesday 9th November - Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, Newcastle
  • Thursday 10th November – Denvirs, Downpatrick
  • Friday 11th November – Cross Square Hotel, Crossmaglen

Tourism skills action plan
Tourism NI is currently supporting a piece of work to develop a Skills Action Plan for our tourism industry.  This will support a Skills Strategy aligned to our Tourism Strategy and will be a brilliant opportunity for us to respond to what our businesses need with skills programmes and business support initiatives that actually fit.  You are asked to complete this short survey on-line, it will take no more than 10 minutes of your time to complete, the deadline is Thursday 3rdNovember.

 

EBA 2020 - Outdoor Spaces Capital Grant - Workshops running from the 7th-21st November
The eagerly awaited third strand of Sport Northern Ireland’s Everybody Active 2020 initiative, Outdoor Spaces, has formally opened.  Closing date for applications will be the end of February 2017.  This strand is targeted at small scale capital projects that deliver new or enhanced sustainable trails or facilities in the natural environment.  The aim is to encourage increased participation by local communities in sport and physical recreation through strong community engagement and “ownership” of the project developed.

Erasmus+ Programme for Sport – 2017 Call for Proposals Open
Erasmus+ is the European Programme for education, training, youth and sport for the period 2014-2020.  Ultimately, sport projects supported through Erasmus+ should lead to increased levels of participation in sport, physical activity and voluntary activity.
