FABULOUS COACHING OPPORTUNITY!
CALLING YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 16-24! NEED SOMETHING TO DO FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS OVER THE SUMMER?
The Ulster GAA Foundation Coaching Qualification will takeplace from Monday 17th - Thursday 20th July from 4pm to 7pm at Pairc Esler in Newry (to be confirmed) with a trip to Croke Park on the Friday. It's for young people aged 16 - 24. It's targeted at young people not in work, education or training. It's free and the young people get £3 each day for attending plus any travel they need to get to venue each day. For example bus fares, taxi etc.
YOUNG PEOPLE FROM CLONDUFF WHO ARE INTERESTED SHOULD CONTACT SECRETARY ON 07720062073

SENIOR FOOTBALL

SFL Ballyholland 3-12 Clonduff 0-15
This game looked well and truly over at half time - Clonduff trailed in Ballyholland 2-10 to 0-5 and three of those were from frees. Whatever Ross said to them at half time had the desired effect! Clonduff scored the first 7 points but lost a wee bit of impetus when in one of the few times the home side got near the Clonduff goal they scored a goal. Clonduff's work rate, high fielding, turnovers, interplay, long ball in transformed the game and but for some wayward shooting and trying to score goals against the entire Ballyholland team the end result may have been very different. Oh what might have been if they had played half as well in the first half as they did in the second but they can take heart from their second half performance.
Team and scorers: Paul Gribben, Ruairi Lively Shay Murnin, Conor Óg O'Hagan, Jayme Gribben (0-1), Shane McGreevy, Charlie Carr (0-2), John Brown, Niall Tumilty, Paul Lively (0-2), Patrick O'Hagan (0-2), Stephen McConville (0-4), Shane Ward (0-2), Niall McPolin, RíanBranagan (0-2); Sus used: James Killen, Conor Murray

PRFL - Clonduff II 2-10 v Kilcoo II 3-6
From a comfortable six points up with 10 minutes to go Clonduffalmost contrived to lose the game but showed great character to recover and score the last two points of the game.
Team and Scorers: Neil Trainor, Lyndon Brown (0-2), James Killen, Lorcan Branagan, John McPolin (0-2), Ross Carr, Kieran Trainor (1-0), Damien Canning, Ryan McPolin, Tiernan McAvoy, Gary McDonald, Conor Lowry, John Boden (0-4), Niall McPolin (1-0), Noel Grant; Subs used: Shaun Murnin (0-2), Jayme Gribben, Shane McGreevy.

Clonduff II v Bryansford II
Clonduff II played their second game in two days. They trailed 0-5 to 3-5 at half time. Had a great second half to leave just two points between them at the final whistle. Clonduff team and scorers: Darren McKevitt, Lyndon Brown, John Mc Polin (0-1), Dean McCabe, Paul Lively, Ross Carr (0-2), Jayme Gribben (0-1), John Brown, Ryan McPolin, Shaun Murnin (0-2), Gary McDonald, Conor Lowry (0-2), John Boden (0-7), Niall McPolin, Conor Óg O'Hagan; Sub: Stephen Kelly (0-2).

UNDERAGE FOOTBALL

AC U16 FL Final Clonduff 3-13 Ballyholland 3-10
Clonduff U16s are are All County League Champions!
In a great game of football which went to extra time Clonduff ran out winners by 3 points. Both teams gave it their all and were out on their feet at the final whistle.
Team and scorers: Darragh McAlinden, Sean McCumisky, Conor Parr (vc), Kieran Mulholland, Rory McKernan, Laurence Brannigan, Declan McCloskey-Hudson, Tom Close (capt 0-3), Shane Parr, Charlie Kerr, Padraig Clancy (0-2), Oisin Tumilty, Padraig Kelly (1-1), Eamon Brown (1-7), Aidan Markey (1-0); Subs used: Oran Wilson, Padraig Morgan, Jamie McDonald, Peter McEvoy; Other subs: Charlie Brown, Eugene Lively, Pearse Cunningham, Jake Morgan,

CAMOGIE NEWS

Congratulations

To Blaithin Shields who has been selected to play during half time of the All Ireland hurling semi-finals in the Cumann na mBunscolmini games.   Well done Blaithin! Enjoy the whole experience.

To the six club girls who were part of the Down panel for the win against Galway on Saturday in Pairc Esler. Down 3-19 Galway 5-10

U16s

The u16s welcomed Mayobridge to Clonduff Park on Tuesday evening for a league match and it certainly proved to be a game of two halves, Clonduff were completely on top in the first half and were ten points up at half time, Clonduff 7-03 Mayobridge 3-04, whatever was said to the Mayobridge girls at half time must have worked because they were a very different team in the second half and played the much better camogie and chipped away at the lead. Indeed they were soon ahead and the final score was Clonduff 7-04 Mayobridge 8-07. This was a very disappointing performance from the girls in the second half defensively we were torn apart and we missed some easy scoring chances at the other end. Scorers; Ellen Lively 1-01, Hannah Wilson 3-00, Katie Cunningham 2-00, Beth Fitzpatrick 1-01 and Lauren Kane 0-01

SENIOR CAMOGIE

The seniors didn’t have a game this week due to the county playing at the weekend, there is only one game left to play a home fixture against Portaferry, it is great to be able to report that we have already won the league the first time since 2009, well done to all!!!
